Service

I have been assigned to take part in service at Boulevard school on Lee Rd. I was suppose to start tomorrow, Friday October 1st but it has been postponed until next Friday. I am very excited to start and look froward to seeing what it is i will exactly be doing how what type of students I will be dealing with. I know that I will be tutoring students from grades K-3 in literacy but I am curious to see if the students are well behaved and what level they are at educationally wise. I look forward to next Friday.

Ladder of Inference

I based this service off of what I have heard my friends and others talk about their experiences with service through John Carroll University. That then led to my belief in service. I believe that service is a necessity to society and the community. I expect to be a help to students and aid them in their learning. I am very excited and look forward to attending service on Friday.

Timeline

There have been many things that have occurred throughout my life that has guided me in the direction of teaching. I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little. There was one specific event that sticks out to me when I think about what made me want to become a teacher and that occurred during February if my senior year in high school.
My senior class took a field trip to Broadmoor School, which is a school for special education students. Once there we were assigned groups of students and we did fun activities with them. It was so satisfying to me to see how excited these students would get once they accomplished a task. This confirmed for me that teaching was my future career.

Learning Style and more: 5. Being as specific as you can, what must be in place for you to feel comfortable taking intellectual and creative risks in a classroom?
In order to feel comfortable and be willing to take intellectual and creative risks in a classroom I must feel like I am in a warm, welcoming environment.

6. I am interested in your perception of yourself as a student. Please describe it. I actively participate in class discussions. I feel that I am a very responsible student and am always on time for class with my homework done. I also go to a professors office hours or find a classmate in my class to help me when I do not understand an assignment or topic in class.
